The need both to avoid creating further fishing capacity and to reduce existing capacity poses extraordinary challenges to attaining responsible fisheries in many parts of the world. ‘CapCurb’ Component activities involve provision of guidance and advice regarding the management of fishing capacity through regional workshops and dissemination of multi-disciplinary information regarding the management of fishing capacity, including formulation of NPOAs.| Component status: | Operational from August 2002 | | CCRF Reference: | IPOA Capacity; IPOA IUU; CCRF Articles 6, 7 | | Budget 2002-2006: | ca.
