Characteristics
Species EnvironmentPelagic species found over the continental shelf in depths ranging between 20-90 m. Occurs in coastal bays, harbors and deep lagoons, usually in some turbid plankton-rich waters. Form schools. Feeds on phytoplankton (diatoms) and small zooplankton.
