The objectives of this page are to provide information on past, current and upcoming activities of FAO's Aquaculture Management and Conservation Service (FIMA) in the promotion of GIS, remote sensing and mapping in aquaculture and inland fisheries. The reader should be able to gain an appreciation of the work that FIRI has done in the past using GIS, remote sensing and mapping in addressing aquaculture and inland fishery issues. In overview, the outputs from 1985 to date can be divided into four main categories: projects, publications, training and missions.
