FAO Fisheries Library was established in 1967 to provide specialized library and information services to FAO staff and to disseminate FAO information to fisheries and aquaculture organizations in Member Countries. Its collection includes over 1,600 periodical titles and more than 20,000 reports on developing and tropical fisheries and aquaculture.
The most recent and frequently used publications are physically located in the Fisheries Library. The older fisheries collection is integrated in the David Lubin Memorial Library of FAO, whose total collection is approaching a million volumes. Access to this large, multidisciplinary and historic collection is of benefit to our fisheries information users. For those who may be interested, information about the origins, resources and services of this historical UN Library are available at General information - David Lubin Memorial Library.
The Library is not open to the general public. However, external users such as fisheries specialists and researchers who wish to visit should contact the library in advance to make an appointment. Contacts - Fisheries and Aquaculture Library
