1st D4Science World User meeting

D4Science, the innovative European e-infrastructure project involving 11 partners, will hold its first world user meeting from 25-26 November 2009 at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations headquarters (Rome, Italy). D4Science aims to establish networking, grid-based and data-centric e-infrastructures that accelerate multidisciplinary research, with emphasis on earth science monitoring applications and a current focus on fisheries and aquatic biodiversity.
The two-day meeting will focus on:

  • sharing experiences, best practices and discuss the most recent advances in e Infrastructures with emphasis on how to exploit possible synergies;
  • showcasing the latest D4Science experiences in building dynamic monitoring progress reports, and the most recent results in harmonization and combination of distributed structured data sources for generation of enhanced indicators;
  • identifying the perspectives of the user communities and discuss the road map for D4Science-II Virtual Research Environments.
