Monument to the first known treatise on fish farming, written by Fan Li, located in Wuxi, China

This publication outlined commercial polyculture techniques of growing carp and turtles together, highlighting the economic returns. This monument is located at the Freshwater Fisheries Research Centre of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (FFRC) which is located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. Similar production practices continue to this day, with the basic agroecological concepts being continually refined through innovation through the generations.
