The official languages of the Commission are such languages of the FAO as the Commission may itself decide.

Membership in RECOFI is open to acceptance by Members and Associate Members of FAO as well as by non-member States of FAO that are coastal States or Associate Members which territories are situated wholly or partly within the Agreement Area.

Member's contributions:
RECOFI’s core budget is funded by the contributions of the Member countries of the Commission, which pay their share annually. The practice has been for Member countries to pay their share of the budget on an equal basis
