Abstract: The objectives of this Law are the implementation of sustainable development and the prevention of negative impact on the environment due to planning and building operations in the country, by mean of Environmental Impact Assessments. Moreover, the Law promotes active participation of the communities in the protection of their living environment, research, education and widespread awareness on environmental issues. The Law comprises the following Chapters: Chapter I, General Provisions; Chapter II, Environmental Impact Assessment on Plans; ChapterIII, Environmental Impact Assessment on Construction Projects; Chapter IV, Legal Liabilities; Chapter V, Supplementary Provisions.
