Abstract: This Act regulates marine and inland aquaculture activities, it consists of 92 sections and is divided into 11 Parts. The Act contains provisions on its administration (Part 3), the elaboration and implementation of aquaculture policies (Part 4), licences and leases (Part 5 - 7) and inspections and enforcement of the Act. The Act provides for the establishment and operation of the Aquaculture Advisory Committee and of the Aquaculture Tenure Allocation Board, an advisory body of the Government on matters related to the allocation of tenure for aquaculture. The Act also establishes the Aquaculture Resource Management Fund and regulates its operation.
Comment: This Act is published under the Legislation Revision and Publication Act 2002 and incorporates all amendments in force as at 8 March 2007.
