Everyone can play a role in fighting illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Everyone's help is needed to defeat this serious problem.

A promotional campaign in The Global Record of Fishing Vessels, Refrigerated Transport Vessels and Supply Vessels, has been launched by FAO to raise awareness on this important tool to fight IUU fishing. It will also clarify the key role of the Unique Vessel Identifier and provide information about capacity development activities currently being undertaken by the project.
