UNFSS Independent Dialogue: Pathways for the Future of Sustainable Food Systems in the Mediterranean – Dialogue 2

Building on the findings of the 1st SFS-MED Dialogue held on 27 April, this second Dialogue will foster inclusive discussions to identify common pathways for sustainable food systems in the Mediterranean. The focus of this Dialogue will be to identify what is needed to enable the actions and entry points identified in the first one, to ensure food systems transformation and ultimately advance progress on the 2030 Agenda in the region. The panel discussions will be structured around key enablers such as partnerships, finance and capacity and awareness building.

By involving a wide variety of stakeholders, including a number of FSSDs National Convenors from countries across the Mediterranean, this event will directly contribute to the UN Food Systems Summit’s vision and objectives, and will allow to set the stage for the inception of the SFS-MED Platform, a multi-stakeholder initiative currently under co-development by CIHEAM, FAO and UfMS, as an affiliated project of the OPN-SFSP. The SFS-MED Platform aims at tackling the interdependent environmental, economic, socio-cultural, educational and health/nutrition challenges that the region is facing, through a context-specific approach for the Mediterranean.

Interpretation in English, French and Arabic will be provided.
