TeleFood concerts

Every year, artists from all over the world donate their time and talents to TeleFood.

Lebanese music celebrity and FAO Ambassador Magida Al Roumi will perform several concerts in 2004 for the benefit of FAO's campaign against hunger.

Mexican rock group Maná lifted hearts and spirits with their "Revolución de Amor" concert on 22 February 2003 at the Veléz Sarsfield stadium in Buenos Aires. Dedicating their concert to the plight of the hungry, Maná donated the net proceeds to grassroots TeleFood projects that will help improve the lives of some of the neediest communities.

World-famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti, along with six other well-known opera singers, has lent his voice to the fight against hunger. "Pavarotti Canta Verdi", held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on 12 October 2002, attracted 1 800 people and raised US$220 000.

Also in 2002, the Johannesburg's FNB Football Stadium hosted a 12-hour long concert, featuring renowned African musicians such as Kai Kai, Mory Kante, Mandoza and many others.
