FAO's Nutrition and Consumer Protection Division aims to deliver timely scientific advice and technical assistance to support the member countries. EMPRES Food Safety often deals with cases that some unexpected and urgent works are required. Effective pooling of scientific excellence will contribute significantly to this effort, thus FAO Food Safety Expert Roster is established. Scientists with relevant expertise are invited to apply. All candidates who submit a complete application and meet the validity and eligibility criteria will be included in the roster.
The inclusion of experts in the FAO Food Safety Expert Roster is based on the submission and assessment of a set of mandatory data, consisting of personal and institutional information, and uploaded CV describing the expertise of applicants.
The eligibility criteria are:
a university degree, or equivalent, in one or more areas of relevant expertise;
relevant professional experience;
scientific articles published in peer reviewed journals, technical reports and/or other publications relevant to the expertise declared; and
ability to communicate and work in at least one UN official language.
The data submitted will be validated by the FAO expert roster administrator. Applicant experts will be informed of the outcome of the validation and eligibility steps. This information will include for each non-valid or non-eligible applicant an indication of the criterion that was not met
Experts included in the roster may be invited for two types of assignments:
provision of scientific advice for FAO activities in the area of food safety and quality; and
assignments to FAO projects including field missions.
Experts included into the database are able to update or modify at any time any inaccurate or incomplete personal data in the database concerning their own profile. Experts are also able to exclude themselves from the database at any point in time.
The main end-users of the FAO Food Safety Expert Roster are FAO professional staff. We do not share any of your personal information with any third party without your prior consent. During the application process the expert can choose to share his profile with FAO Members or other UN agencies. All personal information on applicant experts and experts included into the roster will be strictly protected.
