Other scientific advice

Besides JECFA (chemicals) and JEMRA (micro-organisms), FAO convenes various activities and meetings to address specific requests for scientific advice on evolving, emerging and cross-cutting issues in the field of food safety. These activities are also implemented according to the principles and procedures outlined in the FAO/WHO framework for the provision of scientific advice on food safety and nutrition.

The issues being addressed include, for example, biotechnology and nanotechnologies. Information on other topics being addressed is included in the A-Z archive.
