Preparatory Technical Meeting 13-15 November 2013

FAO and WHO are jointly organizing a Preparatory Technical Meeting to be held from 13 to 15 November 2013, at FAO Headquarters in Rome, in advance of the 2014 Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2).

Participants will include high-level technical experts from the food and agriculture, health and other sectors as well as relevant selected experts from United Nations agencies and other intergovernmental organizations, civil society - including non-governmental organizations - researchers, the private sector and consumer associations. The outcome of this meeting will feed into and inform the ICN2 high level meeting in 2014.

The preparatory technical meeting will be conducted in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Russian. The  Provisional Programme in all languages is available on the link below:

The political process begins now for next year’s high-level meeting on Nutrition. Listen to interviews with Brian Thompson, FAO Coordinator ICN2 Secretariat and to statements from FAO/WHO/EU elaborating on the challenges facing nutrition security, why progress to improve nutrition has been slow, and how this year’s preparatory meeting will influence the Second International Conference on Nutrition in 2014.
