The animal health, plant health and food product safety risk analysis undertaken by the technical units (Animal Production and Health, Plant Production and Protection, Nutrition and Consumer Protection, Fisheries and Aquaculture Management, Fish Products and Industry and Forest Management) are supported and complemented by the FCC-ICU.
Some of the activities of the FCC-ICU in the area of risk analysis and intelligence include: - identifying and commissioning studies and research for targeted horizon
- scanning and for the assessment of trends and threats to the food chain
- information sharing through various networks and partnerships
- organizing expert consultations on the assessment of emerging threats to the food chain
- sharing technical instruments and resources
