Mandate
- Organize planning so to promote the wise (i.e. sustainable) use of wetlands within the national territory (Articles 3.1, 4.3,4.4 & 4.5 of the Convention, and relevant Resolutions of the Conference of the Contracting Parties)
- To designate suitable wetlands for the List of Wetlands of International Importance and manage them sustainably (Articles 2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.1, 3.2 and 4.2)
- To cooperate internationally for the management of shared wetlands and shared wetland species (Article 5)
