Summary of trials by country

The countries concerned are Algeria, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey, while some non-Mediterranean countries that have regions with Mediterranean environmental conditions have also been involved. Some countries, such as Senegal, Somalia and the United States, have received seed of various species.

Countries with a national correspondent for the project

In the case of countries that have already appointed a national correspondent for the project, a detailed table of trials by species is available.

References concerning trial results are numbered in the last column of the tables below and also given on the "Selected references" page (with the same number in parenthesis at the end of the entry).

  • France: 267 trials have been set up -Detailed table of trials carried out by INRA, AFOCEL and ONF (in french, titles in english) 
  • Italy: 93 trials have been set up -Detailed table (in french, titles in english) 
  • Greece: 74 trials have been set up -Detailed table (in french, titles in english) 
  • Maroc: 57 trials have been set up -Detailed table (in french, titles in english) 
  • Turkey - Focal Point Insitution: Forest and Environment Ministry - Division, Forestry Research and Development Department - 61 trials set up
  • Spain - Trial status being reviewed. At least 4 trials were established for Pinus halepensis/brutia/eldarica. Focal point: Servicio de Material Genético, Dirección General para la Biodiversidad, Ministerio de Medio Ambiente, Madrid
  • Tunisia - Status of trials being reviewed. Focal point: Institut National de Recherche en Génie Rural des Eaux et des Forêts, Ariana.

    Countries without national correspondent

    Contacts have been established with scientists in the following countries, but no national focal point has been officially nominated yet.
