Available information

Since 2003 FAO has been compiling quantitative and qualitative information on biotic agents (insects, diseases and mammalian pests) that affect forest health. The data have been collected through a search of FAO field project documents, technical responses to questionnaires and country reports and are not yet comprehensive. All data have been verified taxonomically.

A first preliminary analysis of the information has been completed which describes:

• Reported insect pests and diseases by country; 
• Reported insect pest species affecting forests; 
• Reported diseases (pathogens) affecting forests 

Original data are also available in Excel format:

• List of insect pests and diseases by country; 
• List of species with synonyms; 
• List of available countries. 

Comments and feedback are welcome. If you are interested in providing new data please download the database template in excel format.
