FAO has developed a pilot study in Central Asia and Causasus, to shape a clearer understanding of changes and trends in forest tenure in the region and their impact on sustainable forest management and poverty alleviation.

Detailed quantitative information has been collected from 12 countries. The information is complemented by 8 case studies, as illustrated in the map.
