Bureaux régionaux et sous-régionaux des forêts
Pour renforcer encore le rôle de la FAO comme centre d'excellence international et centre mondial de référence sur l'alimentation, l'agriculture, les pêches et les forêts, d'importants efforts ont été déployés ces dernières années pour consolider la structure de la FAO dans les pays et transférer du personnel, des ressources et des responsabilités aux bureaux régionaux et sous-régionaux.
Les questions forestières sont traitées par le personnel de la FAO en poste dans les bureaux suivants:- Bureau régional pour l'Afrique et Bureau sous-régional pour l'Afrique australe et orientale;
- Bureau régional pour l'Asie et le Pacifique et Bureau sous-régional pour les îles du Pacifique;
- Bureau régional pour l'Amérique latine et les Caraïbes et Bureau sous-régional pour les Caraïbes;
- Bureau régional pour le Proche-Orient; et
- Comité du bois de la Commission économique des Nations Unies pour l'Europe et Bureau sous-régional pour l'Europe centrale et orientale
