Working group on Sustainable Financing Mechanisms

Mission of the working group

According to the Work Plan 2010 - 2012, the Working Group 6 of Silva Mediterranea on Sustainable Financing Mechanisms for Mediterranean Forest is focused on the three following priorities:

1. Development of new communication tools in order to enhance visibility of Mediterranean Forests in several International Fora particularly in the context of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM);
2. Improvement of the advocacy strategy for Mediterranean forests particularly in the context of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM);
3. Increasing profitability and implementing innovative economic instruments (PES).

The Working Group is led by Bulgaria and its Coordinator is Mr Spas Todorov, Head of Sector "International cooperation" Executive Forestry Agency - Ministry of Agriculture and Foods of Bulgaria.
