The Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade Support Programme for African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP-FLEGT Support Programme) is a collaborative effort among the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the European Commission and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) to address forest law enforcement, governance and trade issues in ACP member countries.

EU FAO FLEGT programme endorses first projects in Latin America and Asia 23 April 2013 Fourteen projects have been endorsed since expansion to Latin America and Asia began last year. They include enabling effective timber monitoring and traceability in Nepal ; improving legality, governance and trade for smallholders in Myanmar ; developing strategic alliances to improve forest governance in Guatemala ; instituting sustained mechanisms to combat forest illegality in Belize ; revising Ekiti State Foresty Law and Governance in Nigeria ; implementing and supporting a forestry administration system in Sierra Leone ; carrying out a socio-economic study on the trans-boundary timber commodity chain and legal compliance levels in Kenya ; building capacities of civil society on FLEGT processes in Côte d’Ivoire ; and enhancing compliance and regulation of timber harvesting and trade in Uganda . The Programme has also responded to direct assistance requests from the governments of Honduras , Côte d’Ivoire , Guyana and Vietnam . [more]

EU FAO FLEGT Programme: Call for project proposals 1 March 2013 The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations announces a call for proposals for projects through the EU FAO Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade Programme (EU FAO FLEGT Programme) . The four-year initiative has two main components: providing assistance to stakeholders in putting the European Union FLEGT Action Plan into practice, and supporting the collection, analysis and dissemination of FLEGT-related information and lessons learned among stakeholder groups.
