Forestry policies, institutions and programmes
The key pieces of legislation guiding the development of forestry in Samoa are the Forests Act 1967 and the Forest Regulations 1969. Current government policies based on the 1995 national forest policy call for effective and efficient planning and management of forest resources in the country, including protection and conservation of the environment; production of wood and non-wood forest products; and the provision of recreation and tourism opportunities.Last updated: March 2003
