Database of Funding Sources for SFM
A primary objective of the Sourcebook is to act as an interface between the supply and demand sides of the funding SFM equation. The demand side consists of forest actors and stakeholders who are actively seeking financial support for SFM activities and projects, whilst the supply side is comprised of the funding sources such as development banks, bilateral funding agencies, foundations and charities. Funds for SFM activities are available from a wide range of sources. Frequently, however, fund seekers do not have access to quality information on what is available and how to go about applying for funding.
To address the requirement for quality information on funding sources, the Sourcebook provides an on-line database with standardised content elements.
As yet, the full range of funding opportunities for SFM is unclear and we hope that both fund seekers and funding agencies can help us to improve and keep the information contained in the database up-to-date .
In addition to funding (e.g. grants, loans and equity investments) for traditional forestry projects, the database also includes information about funding for a wide range of other activities that could contribute to sustainable forest management (e.g. grants for overseas study and training, grants for feasibility studies, etc.).
The database is managed according to prescribed collections and data policies which you can refer to in the database menu.
