Mandate

Its intergovernmental bodies comprise three thematic committees on regional economic cooperation, on the environment and natural resources development and on socio-economic measures to alleviate poverty in rural and urban areas. It has two other committees on statistics and on transport, communications, tourism and infrastructure development, and two special bodies on least developed and land-locked developing countries and on Pacific island developing countries.
