A total of 1 038 voluntary papers were submitted from throughout the world, of which nearly 200 were selected for presentation, based on peer review by specialists in FAO and in Canadian institutions. In addition, 32 invited papers were presented, categorized as position papers and special papers. All of the papers received are included in this database, classified into the three thematic areas of the congress – Forests for People, Forests for the Planet, and People and Forests in Harmony – and within these, into five topic areas.
