Description: FAO convenes the first Global Timber Forum at HQ 22-23 May 2013 in collaboration with European Timber Trade Federation and The Forest Trust. Around 70-80 timber traders, experts and organizations will be engaged into a moderated discussion in Working Groups on the latest developments in timber markets, forest resource availability, regulatory measures and programmes on legality assurance and sustainability. A declaration and a workplan on fostering collaboration in promoting sustainable and legal trade in timber products will be developed.
