FRA 2005 Terms and Definitions
This site contains terms and definitions used in the Global Forest Resources Assessment 2005 (FRA 2005). These definitions build on earlier global assessments to ensure comparability backwards. They have been carefully modified, taking into consideration recommendations from experts in various fora (follow the link below). This site was first published as a draft on 8 August 2003. Revisions may have been made since then.
A major revision was made in March 2004 and the definitions as presented here are now conclusively established. However, explanatory notes will be added if needs for clarification arise.
