Lennart Ackzell

Lennart Ackzell has a MSc in Forestry (1985) and a PhD (1994) in Forest Genetics. After examine he gained professional experience from Canada, Kenya and Burkina Faso (3 years). He has further worked for the Swedish Forest Agency during 14 years in the field of forest regeneration and genetics and an extensive participation in Global, European and regional fora representing the Swedish Government and the Swedish Forestry. Today Ackzell works for the Federation of Swedish Forest Owners, consisting of 90 000 forest holdings covering over 6 million ha of Swedish Forest, as responsible for International relations. |

Daniel Baskaran Krishnapillay

Language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Tamil & Hindi He was serving as the Senior Director of the Biotechnology Division at the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia until December, 2008 when he officially retired from the Institute and went on to assume the position as the Chief Executive Officer of the Pulau Banding Foundation effective January of 2009. His present nature of work with the Foundation involves working with the State of Perak, Malaysia towards the protection and sustainable use of the bioresources present within the pristine Belum Rainforest. He received his PhD from the University Pertanian Malaysia in 1989 specializing in Cryopreservation for the storage of germplasm of tropical recalcitrant seeds. He was first appointed as an ordinary member of the Panel of Experts on Forest Gene Resources, Rome Italy in 1976 to provide technical support on ex-situ, in vitro and cryopreservation of germplasm of tropical forest species. In 2007, he had the privilege to serve as the Chairman of the FGR Panel for the one term.
