| Chile is located between 18 and 55 degrees of Latitude South with a variety of environments and climates that range from the deserts in the Northern Region to rivers, lakes and glaciers in the Southern Region where annual rainfall exceeds 5000 mm. |

| Santiago, located in the centre of the country, in the semi-arid region, has a mild climate with 300 mm of annual rainfall and a long dry period from October to March. Temperatures vary -4°C in winter to 34° in summer. November and December is spring time in Santiago with pleasant sunny days and temperatures between 24 and 28 °C. |
