The IPC-Session will officially be co-hosted by the Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) and FAO. The theme proposed for the 24th Session of the IPC will be "Improving Lives with Poplars and Willows". The theme includes both the socio-economic and ecological functions of poplar and willow applications. The proposed date of the 24th Session is 30 October to 2 November 2012 while the 46th Meeting of the Executive Committee will take place on 29 October 2012.



All conference facilities are available on the Dehradun Forestry Campus and are located within walking distance from each other. Accommodation for delegates will be in hotels/guesthouses in FRI campus or in hotels at Dehradun. Shuttle buses will be arranged for transport of hotel residents. Breakfast and dinner will be provided on campus in canteens or in each respective hotel. Working lunches will be provided centrally at the Forestry Campus on all session days.


Travel to India is usually via Indira-Gandhi-airport in Delhi. From Delhi, three airlines (Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher) conduct daily flights of ca. 45 min to Dehradun.
