Sustainable forest management, monitoring, assessment and reporting in Asia-Pacific
Project activitiesThe project plans to achieve its outputs through activities both atglobalandnationallevels. The activities at global level through FAO in Rome are primarily designed to facilitate the development of the framework, set of technical guidelines, basic database structure and information sharing network for MAR that are properly linked and harmonized with various processes, protocols and reporting at the international level. These will facilitate the use of MAR information in the development of national forest policies and planning.
The national activities through FAO Regional Office in Bangkok are designed to test and implement these frameworks, guidelines, and database structure and information networks in selected project countries in the Asian Pacific Region.
Through these activities the project is expected to generate conditions that enable enhanced participation and support of various agencies and major stakeholders at all levels to strengthen MAR on SFM, including its use in the development of forest policies and planning.
