Dr Gopi Ghosh - a Strategic Consultant has over 40 years of experience in Agriculture, Sustainable development, Food security & Nutrition, Knowledge Management, Coop & Rural Institutions, Org Change & Creativity, in a variety of institutions both in India and elsewhere.
Starting with the Operation Flood project of the National dairy dev Board(NDDB) and its projects in Dairy, Oilseeds and Fruit and vegetables (Mother Dairy SAFAL) his career spanned across NCDC as Director, and, Min of Agri & Cooperation as Dy Chief Director - ultimately serving the Food and Agri Organization(FAO) of the UN -serving for 15 years in its India office as Assistant Country Representative. He was associated with several national, regional and global programmes and projects including UN’s solution exchange in Food and nutrition security, reform and restructuring process FAO, NCDC, NAFED, agriculture and cooperatives. He coined the brand name SAFAL and anchored the basic work related to the formulation of the first ever National Agri Policy (NAP 2000) while in the Ministry of Agriculture Gov of India.
