Sustainable agricultural productivity growth and bridging the gap for small-family farms
Early in 2012, Mexico, as G20 President, invited international organizations to examine practical actions that could be undertaken to sustainably improve agricultural productivity growth, in particular on small family farms.
The SAVE FOOD initiative is a global effort to reduce food losses and waste estimated at 1.3 billion tonnes of food every year.

The Statistics Division of FAO has launched the first version of the new FAOSTAT, which is part of the organization's mission to improve data collection and dissemination for development and the fight against global hunger and malnutrition. The new platform continues to offer free and easy access to data for 245 countries and 35 regional areas from 1961 through the most recent year available.
