I lead the Youth Employment Program at the Regional Office for Africa (RAF) of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). My main role is to support the designing and implementation processes of youth in agriculture policies and strategies in FAO member countries, as well as the mainstreaming of youth employment activities into FAO policies and programs, all aimed at ending hunger and poverty on the continent.

Je suis à la tête du programme pour l’emploi des jeunes au Bureau régional pour l’Afrique (RAF) de l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO). Ma principale fonction est de soutenir les processus de conception et de mise en œuvre des politiques et des stratégies visant les jeunes dans l’agriculture dans les pays membres de la FAO, ainsi que la prise en compte des activités liées à l’emploi des jeunes dans les politiques et programmes de la FAO, dans le but unique de mettre un terme à la faim et à la pauvreté sur le continent.

Many thanks to all participants for the very valuable contributions posted so far and many more are certainly to be registered. Issues to be dealt with are very clear and I want to believe that through collaboration/partnerships a lot can be achieved in addressing them, building on/learning from what already works in some parts of the continent and beyond.
