Какую историю о взаимосвязи между бедностью и изменением климата могут поведать Малые островные развивающиеся государства (МОСТРАГ)?

Малым островным развивающимся государствам (МОСТРАГ) свойственны уникальные и особенные слабые стороны, которые влекут за собой сложный набор проблем в области охраны окружающей среды, продовольственной безопасности и питания. Изучения опыта МОСТРАГ в преодолении последствий изменения климата может стать орудием не только для других малых государств, но и для всего остального мира. Полученные здесь результаты станут частью текущей работы по оказанию поддержки странам в решении проблем взаимосвязи между бедностью и изменением климата в прибрежных районах, прибрежных общинах и МОСТРАГ.

Climate Change, Food Security and Nutrition

Climate change directly affects food and nutrition security of millions of people, undermining current efforts to address undernutrition. It impacts people’s livelihoods and lifestyles through different pathways, hitting the poorest the hardest. The objective of this consultation is to gain a better understanding of the impact of climate change and to identify possible measures to protect and/or improve nutrition.

План действий по решению проблемы отсутствия продовольственной̆ безопасности при затяжных кризисах

Затяжные кризисы представляют собой одни из самых сложных условий для борьбы с отсутствием продовольственной безопасности и недоеданием. В 2010 году Комитет по всемирной продовольственной безопасности (КВПБ) пришел к выводу, что затяжные кризисы требуют особого внимания. Был начат процесс консультаций для разработки и обеспечения широкого участия в создании документа «План действий по решению проблемы отсутствия продовольственной̆ безопасности при затяжных кризисах» (CFS-A4A). Данная онлайн- консультация будет отталкиваться от полученных на настоящий момент отзывов, предоставляя возможности частным лицам и организациям, которые не смогли принять участие в очных заседаниях.

The ability to access and consume nutritious food is to some extent an outcome of their membership and relationships with other members of society. This is especially true in times of crises. To identify and discuss success stories, challenges and way forward to achieving food and nutritional security, this discussion focuses on social relations and networks for food security and nutrition.

The communities of Sahelian West Africa (Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali) face, year after year, hardships due to drought despite all the aid awarded by international organizations. Lack of understanding of the communities' societies and a fragmented approach seem to be among the causes. What can we do to increase the impact of assistance programmes and reduce the vulnerability of these households?
