A Senior Economist with the Agricultural Development Economics Division at FAO in Rome, Mark has 26 years of professional experience in the domain of food security policy, strategy and programme development, and in supporting and conducting food security information and analysis work at global, regional and country levels. Throughout his career, Mark has worked across disciplines and has provided conceptual, analytical and institutional support to the development of various multi-stakeholder initiatives concerned with food security and nutrition.
Mauricio holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Animal Sciences from Universidad Nacional in Palmira, Colombia, and a Ph.D. from Oxford University. With a strong background in knowledge management, information systems and capacity development, Mauricio was appointed Coordinator of the FSN Forum in 2010. In this capacity as Forum Coordinator, he directs all the Forum’s activities as a global platform for knowledge exchange, dissemination of research results and best practices. His more than 20 years of experience in planning, executing and managing agricultural research and development programmes at national and international levels has resulted in several books, studies, scientific and technical papers and the world known UN report Livestock’s
Long Shadow: Environmental issues and options, which he co-authored.
In addition, Mauricio also serves as the Capacity Development Officer of the FAO Right to Food Team.
Renata serves as the Focal point and Forum Moderator and is responsible for the planning, operation and up scaling of the Forum activities. She liaises with other UN agencies and is in charge of strengthening the cooperation with other platforms and initiatives as well as the Forum’s marketing activities. In addition, she also serves as the contact focal point for the online consultations of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) and of the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE). Renata holds a Masters’ degree in Political Science from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy and worked as a researcher for the Istituto di Ricerche Ambiente Italia in addition to being a part of a team of experts assisting the Italian Ministry of Environment in developing
the National Sustainable Consumption and Production Strategy before joining the Team in 2009.
Max started working for the FSN Forum in 2009 and since then he has carried out day-to-day management of the Forum, represented it at international fairs and liaised with members and partner organizations during the planning and execution of the Forum’s activities. He is in charge of identifying suitable regional partners and the building and upkeep of the collaboration mechanisms. Furthermore, Max also sets up regional online consultations as well as supports the management of the online consultation for the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) on the Global Strategic Framework. He holds a Master’s degree in Food Security from Roma Tre University, Italy, and a Master in Human Rights Law from the University of Malta. Before joining the FSN Forum, Max worked as a Project Manager in a Swiss consultancy firm and for German foreign policy institutes.
Daniela is in charge of the overall graphic design and prepares all promotional material for the Forum. She has designed the visual brand identity for the FSN Forum and is in charge of the structure and restyling of the website. In addition to her work with the FSN Forum she also works as a designer for the Right to Food Team and the Agricultural Development Economics Division (ESA) in FAO. Daniela holds a degree in Design and Visual Communication from the La Sapienza University in Rome, a degree in Graphic Design from the Rome University of Fine Arts and a Master in Web Media Design from the European Institute of Design.
