The impact of culture on nutrition secutiry
As a part of agriculture and food system group collaborate with other department to provide technical support for the regional initiatives and programmes, e.g. safe food campaign, ASEAN and FAO cooperation. Providing technical input in development of strategies, plans and programmes to support the promotion of IPM and Sustainable Crop Production Intensification in line with Save and Grow
Capacity development of the NPPOs of member countries of the Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission to ensure food security in the region.
Facilitating and contributing to development of regional standard on phytosanitary measure. Development of FAO's programmes on Pesticide risk reduction and support capacity development in strengthening holistic pesticide management sustainable agriculture and food security in Asia and the Pacific.
Analysis and review key developments in plant protection through regional plant protection portal and communication with NPPOs on emerging issues of pests, pesticide risk, food security, sustainable agriculture etc. Oversight of the different standing committees including organizing the meetings; develop technical discussion papers, review submitted draft discussion papers and finalize drafts received from members; formatting and posting of meeting documents on the regional plant protection portal; assist with the writing of the meeting reports (both virtual and face-to-face) with member agreement; coordinate and implement follow-up actions with committee members.
Researches and analyses of agricultural, economic, trade, market, social, environmental related data, statistics and information to provide technical, statistical analysis for the Commission in order to support the delivery programmes products, projects, publications etc.
Assisting in providing technical backstopping to field projects when LTO is not available.
Development and updated currently existing plant protection portal, pesticide databases, e-learning materials, virtual meeting tools in order to improve information exchange among the member countries. Participates in resource mobilization activities for the project funded by Korean Government
Technical Officer Food Losses with FAO on The Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction. This is a joint initiative of its founders FAO and Messe Düsseldorf, with a wide selection of public and private partners. Its approach is based on coordination and implementation of world-wide activities to reduce food losses and waste. The Initiative rests on four pillars: 1) Increased awareness on food loss and waste impact; 2) Coordinated partnerships of world-wide initiatives on food loss and waste reduction; 3) Evidence-based policy, strategy and investment plans; 4) Interventions and investment in food loss and waste reduction.
