a project that studies the effects of the degradation of a lake in the Philippines on the health of the people living in lakeshore communities. The project is funded by an international organization. Various community sectors and non-government partners take part in this study. I am a part of the Philippine research team, specifically, the University of the Philippines Manila health team.

The Biodiversity for Food and Nutrition Project (www.b4fn.org) which is being carried out in Brazil, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Turkey. The aim of the project is to strengthen the conservation and sustainable management of nationally-important agricultural biodiversity by providing evidence of their nutritional importance and mainstreaming into national and global nutrition, food and livelihood security strategies and programmes.
