International Women's Day 2012

The theme this year: “Empower Rural Women, End Hunger and Poverty” focuses on the role that rural women play in ensuring food security. In this audio, learn how women farmers in northern Côte d’Ivoire are playing a key role in reducing poverty. They are members of a cooperative, where they grow high quality rice seeds that are helping them double their yield and reap huge profits.
