Exposure and Exchange Programme by African women leaders to the Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), India

This video was filmed drawing on the Exposure and Exchange Programme to SEWA, Gujarat, India, by a delegation of 9 African women leaders, held between 28 November and 4 December 2010. This initiative arose from EU-funded "All ACP Agricultural Commodities Programme" (AAACP) and aimed to showcase good practices in institutional development, grass root organising, mainstreaming women roles in producers organisations and agricultural cooperatives in Africa. The film highlights the reasons behind the extraordinary success of SEWA as an organisation that endeavours to empower small and marginal women in agriculture. This film has been produced under a letter of agreement between FAO and SEWA.
