Social & Solidarity Economy as a strategic means to the implementation of the SDGs

France and Costa Rica, in collaboration with the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on Social Solidarity Economy (SSE), chaired by FAO Geneva, organized a side-event in the margin of the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the UN Headquarters in New York. Speakers included, inter alia, H.E. Ségolène Royal, Ministre de l'Environnement et de l'Energie, France, H.E. Carlos Alvarado Quesada, Minister of Labor & Social Security, Costa Rica, and Ms. Astrid Schomaker, Director of Global Sustainable Development, European Commission. The session provided an opportunity to learn more about the potential of SSE to contribute to fundamental changes that need to be brought to our economies to realize Agenda 2030.
