Abstract Grayscale hillshaded image of SRTM 3 as terrestrial DEM and ETopo2 bathymetric data, resampled for compatibility with HydroShed data for Africa. SRTM is Shuttle Radar Topography Mission; DEM is Digital Elevation Model; ETopo2 is a 2 minute Elevation Topographic DEM including bathymetry. The 7-5AS_GSCL_SRTM-BATH image data layer is comprised of 37221x45583 derivative image hillshade features derived based on 0.0020833333_ data originally from SRTM 3as v.2.

Statement Version 2 primary download from ftp://e0srp01u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/version2/Africa but also EuropeAsia and Island FTP directories; See also: http://mac.usgs.gov/isb/pubs/factsheets/fs07103.html or http://edc.usgs.gov/products/elevation/srtmbil.html. These data are based on LP-DAAC, where each 3-as data point is the average of the nine 1-as samples surrounding the post and differ from the DTED1 subsampled data available from USGS SDDS seamless server or distribution DVD's. Automated process used to generate 8.3333333333333333333333333333333e-4 pixel size headers and ingest into Arc-Grid format using the exact geometric center of the lower left pixel for registration; correcting 1/2 pixel shift found in other distributions. Coastal masking based on 1-as SWDB data to set Oceans from zero to no-data and fill terrestrial voids also conducted. Update based on CIAT interpolated data also prepared, pending corroboration of shift. 1x1 tile to maximize AOI specific post-processing.
