| Abstract
|
The map is a regional (South and Southeast Asia ) raster data layer with a resolution of 5 arc-minutes. It shows croplands
in South and Southeast Asia with high levels of sheet erosion. This provides an indication of potential off-site impacts
in the form of siltation and sedimentation in waterways. The map is based on the Assessment of the Human Induced Soil
Degradation in South and South East Asia conducted between 1994-1997 by the International Soil Reference and Information
Center (ISRIC) and FAO. The data sources are from FAO and ISRIC.
|
| Purpose
|
The State Of Food and Agriculture 2007 contains 4 global datasets, 2 South and Southeast Asia, 2 Neotropics datasets. The
datasets are intended to provide an indication at the regional and global level of potential for farmers to provide environmental
services.

|
This dataset is created for the State Of Food and Agriculture (SOFA) 2007, Paying farmers for environmental services, FAO.
Each pixel contains a class value of 11 for croplands with high rates of human-induced erosion, 10 for high rates of human-induced
erosion, 1 for croplands, and 0 for all other pixels.
