The Irrigated Area map is based on the agricultural statistics data from 2001-2002 survey for the Union of Myanmar.
The total irrigated area is considered as the sum of the net sown irrigated area managed by the Irrigation Department (ID),
the Water Resources Utilization Department (WRUD) or private operators.

of Myanmar - Agricultural Year 2001-2002", Environment and Natural Resources Service - FAO, 2005. The Atlas was produced
by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in partnership with the Government of the Union of Myanmar
and the United Nations Development Programme.
