Growing season 2003-2004 (November 2003 - June 2004)

WOFOST-based Yield estimate

This map displays the estimated yield for the 2003-2004 growing season in Malawi. The yield estimation is based on the WOFOST agro-meteorological crop growth model which uses a number of parameters such as meteo data, soil data etc. to estimate yield.

The yield is displayed as a percentage of the 5-year average (1998 - 2003).

Long term average statistics are used from the Malawi Ministry of Agriculture and FAOSTAT database.
