凡妮·鲁于2006年发行首张专辑Lágrimas Cálidas（《温暖的眼泪》）。该专辑立即在拉美走红，连续5周居榜首。主打歌曲“No Te Pido Flores”（《我不是要你给我送花》）连续7周居拉美、哥伦比亚、秘鲁、委内瑞拉和墨西哥最热门100首歌曲音乐排行榜的榜首。凡妮·鲁两次获 Lo Nuestro Award 奖提名，荣获热带类别下的“年度女艺人”和“年度艺人”奖。由于不断取得成功，凡妮·鲁在2008年拉丁音乐奖（Latin Billboard Music Award）颁奖中获得6项提名。

凡妮·鲁全力投身于社会和人道主义事业。在过去四年中，她一直积极参与促进粮农组织活动、世界粮食日/电视粮食集资等工作，特别是在哥伦比亚的工作。当前，她正致力于一项新的筹资和宣传项目，支持粮农组织在拉美区域开展活动。

她已接受作为“青年及联合国全球联盟（YUNGA）”行动的表率，使青少年都参与到诸如气候变化、生物多样性等环境问题中来。

鉴于其对粮农组织目标和使命所做出的具体承诺和支持，凡妮·鲁于2009年10月16日被任命为粮农组织亲善大使。

Fanny Lu is profoundly committed towards social and humanitarian issues. She has been active in promoting FAO and the World Food Day/TeleFood campaigns over the last four years particularly in Colombia and is now working on a new fundraising and awareness-raising project to support FAO in the Latin American region. As Goodwill Ambassador, the famous singer is now involved in FAO aid  in Haiti.
