Meet the Goodwill Ambassadors

Justine Pasek

Justine Pasek is a former Miss Universe who has used her profile to work tirelessly for others.

Born in Ukraine, her home country since childhood has been Panama.

Pasek was appointed an FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2003, the same year she completed her time as Miss Universe.

She has visited FAO development projects in Peru, helping generate media coverage and raise awareness of the Organization’s work, particularly in Latin American.

She spoke at the launch of a collaboration agreement between FAO, the International Centre for Sustainable Development (CIDES), the City of Knowledge group of innovative organizations, and the Panama Ministry of Agricultural Development in Panama City. She also took part in the launch of the Professional Football Against Hunger campaign at FAO headquarters in Rome and acted as patron of the Hunger Run.

“I feel it is my duty to use my title of FAO Ambassador to work towards a world in which the fertility of our soil reaches everyone,” she said.

Pasek has worked extensively with HIV/AIDS organizations to help raise awareness and generate funding. She is patron for the osteoporosis foundation Fosemo and sponsor of the Osteoporosis and Metabolic Disease Foundation, both based in Panama.
