Noa
Noa is Israel's leading international musician, with her music rooted in both Western and Middle Eastern traditions.
Her background can help account for this: born in Israel from Yemeni roots, Noa grew up in New York, returning to Israel when she was 17.
She has collaborated with musicians from around the world including Donovan, Stevie Wonder and Santana. Working with long-term collaborator Gil Dor, she has recorded hundreds of songs and also plays guitar, drums and piano. Noa’s real name Achinoam means “sister of peace”.
She was appointed an FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2003 and has since helped promote hunger issues through various events. These include performances at World Food Day events and a Music Against Hunger concert in Paraguay.
Numerous interviews with international media about FAO activities have helped further highlight the plight of the world’s hungry.
“I am proud to partner with FAO to deliver the important message of ‘Food for All’ to people all over the world,” she said. |
